In my previous work life I specialized in risk management - I started at a commercial insurance company as a documents clerk and, years later, ended as a Risk Manager for a large commercial construction company. Due to life changes, I transitioned to the role of homemaker for my lovely partner, our cat companions, and a herd of guinea pigs. I enjoyed my role of homemaker, but found myself looking for a reason to leave the house that wasn't just the usual grocery run and household errands.
I've been a longtime lover of animal companions, and had a friend that was doing pet care who thought it would be a good fit for me, so I decided that I'd casually give it a go. That quickly grew into a job that I love and I've got an amazing bunch of loyal clients that regularly book me to help with their animal companions. It makes me so happy and grateful to return to my client's homes for each new booking to continue my relationship with your pets!
While pet care is my job, its also my passion, and I pride myself on my integrity. If you leave a door closed, I'm not going to open it. If I don't need to go upstairs for pet related things, I won't. My job when I'm doing visits is to come in, care for your pet in the same manner you would, and leave your home the same way or better than I found it. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you're away from home and it makes me so happy to have clients that trust me while they're out enjoying themselves.
Because I worked in insurance and risk management, I understand that even the best laid plans come across unexpected incidents. To help protect us in the unlikely event of an emergency, I carry insurance specifically tailored to pet care providers. I also require all clients to sign a Client Agreement and Veterinary Release before I provide services. The Client Agreement outlines basic ground rules, standards of care, and other important items to protect both you, as the Client, and me, as the Care Provider. The Veterinary Release authorizes me to seek out an appropriate veterinary facility and approve stabilizing or life-saving care if you or your emergency contact are unavailable in the event of an emergency.
